In every house there are fine books, dirty books, big books and smaller books. Not only books, but also CDs, phonograph records, shirts and component stereos are in one room. The room is full of things. This is the realities of the life in the city. That went for the client, Mr.Kato, a friend of ours, too. We faced the problem and rearranged the situation, to create a new design. The product was named "Kato" after the client Mr. Kato and was a made-to-order shelf.
"Kato" is constructed by two different sizes of boxes, W530×H530×D450 and the half size W530×H530×D225. Each of them has a double-fixed canvas front with zipper. By opening and closing the front, it creates various expressions. The boxes are stacked to two different types of shelf. Each of them can move separately in regular distance and is changing it's expression.
