This project was planned 3years ago and about that time, the word “renovation” was not popular to the public.Although we did not plan the project as a “renovation”, it was very likely project.Then our concept was “to design the changeable time”.To put it concretely, we paid more attention to the texture.After peeling the p-tile, a rough feel concrete surface appeared.We painted this in red as groundwork, and then we painted it to black with the acrylic coatings.Now, when people walk on the concrete surface, the black coating comes off little by little, and the red groundwork appears.With the years, the red surface gets bigger and bigger.So we have designed as we said in the concept “the (progressing) time”.
The wall was finished with the spraying-tile, which was in detail uneven finished, and was used for the typical Japanese apartment house, built by the housing corporation formerly.The tile did not suit to the cafe´ interior.We wanted to create a new surface wall, with this unevenness.
We painted the concave surface with the plasterers coating, and cut of the convex surface partially.New and old coatings are combined to the fine spotted texture in one level.
