| Schemata renovated "Sayama Flat", a 30 year old apartment building in 2008. An hour train ride away from the downtown Tokyo, an old residential town of Sayama has many elderly residents. Getting off the train, you would need to walk through a run-down shopping district for about 10 minutes to reach "Sayama flat"
In a typical renovation project, the old interior is completely removed, then the new interior is installed. With this renovation, we intentionally left some of the old interior parts untouched.
